PHYSICAL EDUCATION – YEAR 11

Aims:
This course will focus on developing and understanding of matauranga Māori concepts such as Kotahitanga and demonstrating a range of skills in both practical and theoretical contexts. Students will learn how the body and mind work together to create functional movement and how this effects our Hauora.
Course Content:
The main focus of the course is to strengthen skills in:
Knowledge about movement and well-being through a range of physical activities
Te Ao Maori aspects in relation to physical activity
Critical thinking, drawing connections between physical activity experiences and theory content.
Entry Requirements
Students who wish to take NCEA Level 1 PE must have shown a willingness to participate in PE throughout Year 10.
