NCEA LEVEL 2
English at Level 2 aims to strengthen students’ skills in a range of written, oral and visual contexts. English will also help you to achieve University Entrance Literacy, and will support your growth as a writer across the curriculum. This is an academic course where you will be required to read and appreciate literature and language. You will develop analytical skills and be required to interpret text.
If you wish to gain entry to the University of Auckland, you must gain at least 17 Level Two English credits.
Students who achieve at least 14 Level 1 Achievement Standard credits will gain automatic entry to this course. Those who do not meet the prerequisites will only gain entry to this course at the discretion of the Head of English.
This course is eligible for subject endorsement.
This course is approved for University Entrance.
Total Credits Available: 21 credits.
Externally Assessed Credits: 8 credits.
Internally Assessed Credits: 13 credits.
Course availability is dependent on numbers and staffing, and course entry will be confirmed at the beginning of 2021. Students will be required to select additional back-up courses as part of this process.
