This course aims to build and refine skills in Design and Adobe software such as Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign. Students will also learn how to develop their own ideas through looking at the current Design world, research eras of Design, look at artist models and learn Adobe skills. 

The main focus of the course is to strengthen skills in:

  • Graphic Design 

  • Adobe Software

  • Idea development

  • Visual composition and layout design

Entry Requirements

Students must have passed their Level 2 Design Folio Board external or have gained at least 14 credits in Level 2 Design. Students with no design background who wish to take up Year 13 Design need to see the Ms. McClintock regarding entry into this course prior to commencement.

It will suit students who have an interest in Design and Digital Art and are interested in looking at and creating things such as; branding, websites  and magazines. Students will need to be able to think creatively and imaginatively to develop ideas. Students would also need to finish off design work outside of lesson time.

Pathway

Success in Level 3 design will provide students with knowledge and skills that are important if students want to study Art and Design based degrees or want to make their career in a creative industry.
