13PHY

Physics Level 3

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mrs S. Valentine.

PHYSICS – YEAR 13
NCEA LEVEL
CODE: 13PHY

Course Outline: To introduce the fundamental concepts and principles associated with Mechanics, Electromagnetism, and Atomic Physics. To develop an appreciation of the relevance of Physics to the everyday lives of people. To develop investigative skills and attitudes in the determination of relationships, patterns and trends.

Students will complete the following achievement standards:

AS91525: Demonstrate understanding of Modern Physics

AS91524: Demonstrate understanding of Mechanical systems

AS91521: Carry out a practical investigation to test a physics theory relating to two variables in a non-linear relationship.

AS91526: Demonstrate understanding of electrical systems

AS91522: Demonstrate understanding of the application of Physics to a selected context.

For further information see: Ms Sarah Valentine
