The Travel and Tourism industry plays an important role in New Zealand’s economy. There is an increasing need for people to work in places such as hotels, theme parks, restaurants and visitor centres; in providing tourists with enjoyable and positive experiences in the country. This course is also the first stage to obtaining the National Certificate in Tourism (Introductory Skills) Level 2. Successful completion of both Year 12 and Year 13 courses will enable students to attain the industry’s National Certificate in Tourism (Introductory Skills) Level 2.
Unit Standards worth 20 Credits towards NCEA Level 2 are available in this course. All Unit Standards are internally assessed and fulfils the compulsory component of the National Certificate.

Entry Requirements14 Credits in Level 1 Geography or 14 credits from an appropriate subject at the discretion of the Head of Social Sciences.
