Level 1 Humanities

Tēnā koutou katoa, welcome to L1 Humanities. In this course, the aim is for our akonga is to understand, participate, have fun and contribute to the local, national and global communities in which they live and work. This course is a hybrid of Pacific Studies and Religious studies aimed at studying and thinking critically about societal issues that are ever present in life.

Topics covered: Response to natural disasters and epidemics, Conflict resolution and Sustainability. Impact of tourism and other globalisation in the Pacific, as well as the impact of climate change and movement of peoples in the Pacific.  explores the significance of diverse religious and spiritual worldviews across time and humanity.
