Science with Physics and Space Science Level 1

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mrs S. Valentine.

Aims:

This course will focus on interacting processes within the Earth’s systems and how they influence the surface, climate and life on earth. Students will use inquiry to explain concepts of the physical world, and develop understanding of energy in different formats.

Course Content:

The main focus of the course is to strengthen skills in:

  • Explaining nature and the properties of matter and energy.
  • Explore the dynamics of  Earth Space science systems and how they interact with each other.
  • Use inquiry to explain concepts of the physical world.

Where can this subject take you?

Success in Level 1 PESS will support the students in taking NCEA Level Two Physics. This course will support students who are interested in limited entry courses in university like Architecture, Engineering, or Health Sciences; as well as students interested in studying Physics or Earth Space Science at university.
