Level 1 Sports Science

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr D. Drake.

Level 1 Sports Science is an entirely practical course with a focus on how the body moves and the responses to training. Students will create a training programme and work in the weights room and have one trip to Action Matakana where they will be tested on a confidence course.

The course is academic and would suit a motivated and driven student.

Entry Requirements

A general interest in training and understanding the science of the body and sports.

Pathway

This course is ideal for students wanting to pursue a career in sports related fields i.e. data analysis, coaching, biomechanics or medicine.

You will be assessed in this course through all or a selection of the standards listed below.
