Kia orā, Welcome to Y10 social studies. In this course, students focus on learning about identity, privilege and economic globalization. Lastly, Our Junior Social Studies course acts as a pathway into the Y11, 12 and 13 Subjects: Senior Social studies, History, Geography, Tourism, Legal studies, Pacific Studies and Religious studies.
Term 1
• Term 1: In Term 1 students examine how identity can be constructed through personal decisions.
Term 2
• Term 2: Students then get the opportunity in Term 2 to look at privilege, who it benefits and how.
Term 3
• Term 3: We learn about global economic changes, such as the power of media & artificial intelligence.
Term 4
• Term 4: Consists of Project based learning and the analyzing Health inequities in Society.
