Entry Requirements

Students will be placed in a Science course dependent on the curriculum level they have achieved in Year 10.

Entry Requirements:

The Level 1 NCEA Science course is designed to be inclusive and to cater to learners with diverse backgrounds and abilities. While prior scientific knowledge can be helpful, it is not typically a strict requirement. Instead, the course aims to cultivate a strong foundation in scientific thinking, inquiry, and problem-solving skills that can benefit learners, moving on to Level 2 and Level 3 Sciences.

The Level 1 NCEA Science course is designed to be accessible and engaging for a wide range of learners. While there are typically no specific prerequisites for entry, certain types of learners who could benefit from and excel in this course include:

Aims:

Level 1 NCEA Science establishes a robust scientific foundation, embracing KBHS values of Whanau, Tohea, Kairangi and Mana for holistic growth. The course introduces fundamental scientific principles, enabling seamless progression into complex concepts with cultural sensitivity.
