How to select my subjects

  1. Click on Course Information from the menu on the left and read the information relevant to your Year Level e.g. Year 11 students read "Students entering Year 12".


  2. You can also read other information on the other tabs such as NCEA Requirements or Vocational Pathways and advice on selection choice on Kelston Boys' High School. This is important to make sure you choose wisely.

  3. Select Job Search from the menu on the left. You can search up information about any careers you are thinking about doing and learn what subjects can lead you into this career.

  4. If you are year 11, 12 or 13, have a look at your results by selecting the Results (current year) tab from the menu, to see where you are achieving well as these may be subjects to pursue next year.

  5. Now select Course Selection.

  6. First select your intentions for next year and complete this before you can continue.

  7. On All Learning Areas you can look at all the courses the school offers so you can plan your future pathways.

  8. Recommended Courses for you will take you to all the courses you can select from for next year.

  9. To the right you will see your compulsory courses have already been selected for you. You will also see how many options you can select. You must also select two backup courses incase your first choices are unsuccessful.

  10. When you have found a course, you want to take, press the big green button.


  11. You can delete courses that you change your mind on.

  12. You have three weeks to select your courses. After this you will need to see your Kaimanaaki Tangata (Dean).
