Vocational Pathways are available to Year 12 and Year 13 students and provide new ways to achieve NCEA Level 2 and Level 3 – the foundation for success in further education and the world of work.
The pathways help you see how your learning and achievement will be valued in the ‘real world’ when you look for a job and start your career.
Achieving Vocational Pathways means that you have developed skills, and achieved in areas that employers value, and that you have skills and knowledge that are relevant for their industries.
Students must gain NCEA Level 2 and 3 to receive a Vocational Pathways Award, 60 of these Level 2 or 3 credits must be from the recommended standards in one or more pathways, including 20 credits from the sector-related standards in a Pathway.
Vocational Pathways include the following:
Level 2 - Automotive (Unitec), Building (Unitec)
Level 3 - Automotive (Unitec), Building (Unitec), Sports and Recreation (Adventure Works), Technology (Techtorium)
